Hi! I’m Amy Morris,

Art is my way of absorbing and translating the deeper emotional significance of the environments I experience. Specializing in coastal landscapes, my work frequently explores local Orange County coves and beaches, such as Crystal Cove and Laguna, alongside travels to Hawaii and vibrant floral bouquets from my own garden. Using acrylic glazes, I build layered paintings that balance realism with expressive strokes to capture both the physical scene and its underlying atmosphere. Firsthand experience is vital to my process; I paint en plein air or study scenes extensively on-site before translating those emotional connections onto canvas in the studio.

My paintings and poetry have been featured in Concordia University Irvine’s Aerie Literary and Fine Art’s Publication.
